Lynne has been enjoying her art for many years, first with an imaginative ceramic sculpture, and more recently with her vibrant and original paintings. Over the last few years Lynne has been developing her painting talents – taking classes with Susan Obrien, at the Diamond Valley Arts Society, U3A and participating in arts groups in far North Queensland, as spending a lot of time painting, using both acrylic and watercolour. She has been experimenting with many different style and subjects, but her work is distinguished by colour and her understanding of her subjects
Bulleen Art & Garden displays a selection of Lynne’s paintings long term, a well as in exhibitions in the Bolin Bolin Gallery. The most recent exhibitions were “Neptune’s Grotto” in 2023 https://gallery.baag.com.au/event/neptunes-grotto/ and “Alice in Wonderland” https://gallery.baag.com.au/event/alice-in-wonderland/ in 2022.
Previously she was creating her mermaids, dragons and other creatures for many years, and selling them at exhibitions, St Andrews & Eltham markets, galleries & gift shops. She first introduced me (Meredith Plain https://meredithplain.com.au) to ceramic sculpture when she was teaching a course at the Eltham Living and Learning Centre in 1988. Her work and her enjoyment of the medium, and the creative possibilities of ceramic sculpture fired my imagination. Lynne was creating her mermaids, dragons and other creatures for many years, and selling them at exhibitions, St Andrews & Eltham markets, galleries & gift shops. She has also taught ceramic sculpture at the Strathallan and Eltham Living and Learning Centre, helping students discover the creative possibilities of clay.
Lynne is not working with clay much any more, but we do have some of her ceramic mobiles.
