DESCRIPTION: ‘‘ Birds of a Feather’\nCeramics \,paintings \nEastern Studio Potters and Artists\nJenny Stokes\, Jenny John\, Di Beveridge\, Sue Trevillian. Ann Jackson\,  Carol Downey\, Meg Lowery\n22 August to 22 Sept  \nThis group of talented potters\, painters and a textile artist will be returning to the Bolin Bolin Gallery. They have been exhibiting at Bulleen Art & Garden for many years\, and some of them also sell work here on a regular basis. \nThe theme of this exhibition is birds. Some of the works are about birds\, but the title also references the things these artists have in common – their creativity. There will be a range of ceramic works – from functional studio ceramics to ceramic sculpture\, as well as paintings an even some textiles. \n“Working with clay (or paint\, or textiles) is essentially a solitary pursuit. For this reason Eastern Studio Potters exists to provide connections between different potters. Members share knowledge and experience\, push the boundaries and ‘fire one another up’. Meetings\, workshops and shared exhibitions encourage and inspire members. This group was formed to provide this mutual support and inspiration many years ago when a group of potters had finished their studies. I began thinking of what kind of things I wanted to see as sculptures in my garden and particularly the scale they should be. If I was going to have Gnomes and Gargoyles I wanted to be able to see them. The scale had to be sufficient so that they would not be lost.” Heather Wilson. \n  \nHeather Wilson has been working as a ceramic artist for over 30 years and has regularly exhibited at Bolin Bolin Gallery and in the Bulleen Art and Garden shop.
