New sculpture by Nicola Hoyle
29 October to 29th November 2020
An exhibition exploring shape and form, predominantly using steel.
This wll be the first exhibition in the Boin Bolin Gallery after lockdown.
Nicola is one of our regular artists, both exhibiting often and commissioned to design and make the sculptural elements which give character to both our Sculpture Garden (http://gallery.baag.com.au/?p=3479) and the Bolin Bolin Gallery itself.
“By nature I am N a hoarder. As a result my art is heavily influenced by recycled materials and found objects, particularly scrap metal. I feel great pleasure at the prospect of turning outcasts into things of beauty.
I am entirely self taught as an artist and enjoy the ongoing journey of discovery and exploration that my works brings. Prior to motherhood, I was as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry. I never felt fulfilled in this environment, but perhaps my choice of vocation was the attraction to shiny materials and their assembly processes.”
